Be nice to have an option to select bigger or smaller maps. The maps at the moment are way to small.

I agree, however the problem must be the enemy spawning, if you create a fortress, how will you be attacked?
Same problem in Dwarf fortress, instead there is demolitionist gobelin, who blast your walls and gear =)
