It seems that most times when I want to play and I use the launcher when I update it just sits there at 0.000 kb/s forever unless I close it.
Is this just my internet or is there a deal with the launcher?

This is definitively a problem.
Do you have this behaviour every time you use the launcher?
One way to fix this situation is for you to delete the build and defend cache directory.
You can find it at %userprofile%\.buildanddefend
Please tell me if this solves your problem.

If for some reason the launcher still does not work for you, you can download the game directly.

No this does not happen every time I use the launcher and seems to happen more or less random, which is why I have prolonged to share this thinking it was me or my stuff.
That said I have gotten it to update today and have downloaded the standalone.
